The Barn is open!
Utile was on hand last night to celebrate the opening of the Belmont Day School Barn, a new 30,000 square foot academic, arts, and athletics building for the private pre-K through 8th grade school located in Belmont, MA. The Barn comprises two side-by-side structures: one, a pre-engineered longspan fieldhouse structured to house two full size basketball courts; the other, a stick-built steel headhouse with five workshop-style classrooms for the school’s STEAM programs. Both open up to the campus’s existing tennis courts and playground, which tie this new building back to the existing campus.
The Utile design team had a blast working with the Belmont Day School administration, teachers, and board, as well as Shawmut Design & Construction, and we’re proud to have been part of this transformative project for the campus!
